Youth Fishing Camp in Bastrop, Texas


In 2015, 24 campers caught over 850 bass and they had a lot of fun in the process. Lake Bastrop continues to prove to be a super location for the Outdoor Texas Fishing Camp. The goals of the camp are to take each camper and improve their knowledge and their skills as they relate to fresh water fishing. The instructors make sure each camper improves their abilities whether they are a beginner or a veteran fisherman. South Shore Park with its new dining hall, meeting facilities, and lakefront cabins provided the perfect spot for Outdoor Texas to maximize the camps efforts for safety, learning, and fun.

Typical Camp Day

7:00 am - Wake up
7:30 am - Breakfast
8:00 am - Activity Session I (Ex. Spin Casting)
10:00 am - Activity Session II (Ex. Knot Tying)
Noon - Lunch / Cabin Time / Inside Instruction
1:00 pm - Cabin or Special Activity Time
3:00 pm - Activity Session III
4:30 pm - Activity Session IV (Ex. Cat Fishing)
6:00 pm - Dinner
7:00 pm - Evening Activity Session V (Ex. Bass Fishing)
9:00 pm -Cabin or Special Activity (Ex. Fly Tying)
10:00 pm - Lights out

Camp Instructors

All Outdoor Texas Camp Instructors are selected based on 1) their knowledge of the subject, 2) their field experience and 3) their ability to communicate with the campers in a positive manner. The Outdoor Texas Staff is no doubt the "Best of the Best."
