Deer hunting is the premier outdoor sporting activity in the state of Texas. Outdoor Texas is determined to have a deer camp that is equal to that premier position. The 9,000 acre Perlitz Ranch is the perfect setting for this very special whitetail deer camp, and ensures each camper will experience all of the sights and sensations of the Texas whitetail experience. The instructor staff and curriculum is the result of the Texas Deer Association and Outdoor Texas’ hard work and dedication to providing each camper with a detailed whitetail education.

The small number of campers, 20, ensures maximum personal instruction which has a lot to do with the success of the camp.The camp's curriculum has been designed to be unique and innovative while maximizing safety, fun, and learning.

7:00 am - Wake up
7:30 am - Breakfast
8:00 am - Activity Session I (Ex. Hunting Knives and Optics)
10:00 am - Activity Session II (Ex. Large Bore Rifle Range)
Noon - Lunch
1:00 pm - Rest / Special Activity (Ex. Deer Videos)
3:00 pm - Activity Session III (Ex. Trailing Wounded Deer)
4:00 pm - Activity Session IV (Ex. Habitat and Feed)
6:00 pm - Dinner
7:00 pm - Evening Activity Session V (Ex. Antler Scoring)
9:00 pm - Q&A Session
10:00 pm - Lights out

Camp Instructors

All Outdoor Texas Camp Instructors are selected based on 1) their knowledge of the subject, 2) their field experience and 3) their ability to communicate with the campers in a positive manner. The Outdoor Texas Staff is no doubt the "Best of the Best."
