Details

The camp has been a great success in creating devoted young fly fishers that have continued to grow their personal skills and enjoyment of the world of fly fishing. The camp location, curriculum and staff are perfectly suited to achieve the goals of the camp.

The small number of camper, 12, ensures maximum personal instruction which has a lot to do with the success of the camp. Camp director Kevin Hutchinson, owner of Hill Country Fly Fishers, and his staff take great pride in their work and the success of this camp.

The camp is located at the Home Martin Ranch on the Llano River near Mason, Texas. This spectacular ranch has three miles of river rontage and some of the best Hill Country fishing available. The ranch is the perfect location for this camp.

Typical Camp Day

6:30 am - Wake up
7:00 am - Breakfast
7:30 am - Fishing
11:00 am - Rest
Noon - Lunch
1:00 pm - Knot Tying
2:30 pm - Fly casting
4:30 pm - Fishing
8:00 pm - Clean-up
8:30 pm - Dinner
9:00 pm - Free time
10:00 pm - Lights out

Camp Instructors

All Outdoor Texas Camp Instructors are selected based on 1) their knowlege of the subject, 2) their field experience and 3) their aboility to ommunicate with teh campers in a positive mannger. The Outdoor Texas Staff is no doubt the "Best of the Best."
