Contributing Writer, Gunn&Hook Outdoor Journal

Gunn&Hook’s Outdoor Journal blog is a space where hunters, fishermen and outdoor enthusiasts go to get tips for their next adventure and read success stories.

As a contributing writer, your primary focus will be sharing your knowledge of the outdoors with our readership and customers. 

What You’ll Be Doing

• Frequently post content featuring all the latest trends and developments in the outdoor industry.
• Post content optimized for organic search and social sharing.
• Work closely with Gunn&Hook’s content marketing manager to develop content strategies.

Skills and Qualifications

Required:

• Must be familiar with and active in the hunting, fishing and outdoor industry.
• Basic writing skills. You don’t have to win a Pulitzer, but we expect proper sentence structure, spelling, grammar and punctuation.
• Some experience with WordPress.
• Social media savvy.
• Basic photo editing skills.
• A strong desire to build your personal brand and ours while reaching a wide audience of fellow outdoor enthusiasts.

Preferred:

• Previous outdoor writing/blogging experience.
• Strong writing ability.
• Knowledge of AP Style.
• Photography and video editing experience.

Compensation 

Writers who meet a minimum monthly posting requirement will receive compensation via a revenue share model.
